Hyperli – The connected marketplace

The curated online marketplace connecting local businesses to local customers.

Launched in November 2016 Hyperli features promotions on the best things to do, see, eat, and buy across South Africa in the form of business listings, discounted offerings, and pre-packaged experiences.

Hyperli’s stated mission is to create moments of perfect engagement between customers, partner businesses and employees.

This is really an new spin, or perhaps an evolution, of the group buying sites we saw a few years ago. Not surprising as Hyperli was founded by former Groupon SA staff members. In line with current trends, although Hyperli has some physical products, it is more about “experiential” products – a tour on a Harley, a special meal, or a day at the Spa.

The site tries to determine the closest major center to you and presents local deals. Categories include Automotive, Beauty & Spas, Food & Drink, Health & Fitness, Local Services, Activities & Things To Do, Online Learning, Photography, Personalised Items, The Perfect Bucket List, The Ultimate Date Night.

The Hyperli philosophy is to treat customers the way that they themselves would like to be treated. This means only selling what they themselves would buy; ensuring the best product, service and experience; getting the best price; and making sure the customer experience is so positive they will be back.

You have to register to use Hyperli  but you can choose to sign in with Facebook or Google+ and there is the usual newsletter activated by default on registration. As incentive you are offered 10% off your first order for registering.

A great feature on Hyperli is that it allows you to create custom Gift Vouchers to give to friends and family.

Payment options include EFT Pro, Credit & Debit Cards and SnapScan.

The services, getaways and offerings on Hyperli, are delivered via vouchers that are visible in your account when logged in. Physical products are delivered with the Parcel Ninja Courier service within 11 days of payment. The delivery process is not terribly transparent and delivery costs are only show at checkout. There is no free delivery offered.

All returns and cancellations must be registered with Hyperli within 7 working days and there is an extensive returns/cancellation policy page.

Customer Service includes an online contact form, the ability to request a callback or the option to email them. Hyperli promises that they will fix things fast. There is also a FAQ page and several other pages on the site to answer your questions.
